Who We Are
Mission: To celebrate and share queer experiences while challenging theatre convention. We embrace “queer” as a verb, and a liberating way to work free of creative prejudice.
QCQTC was created to celebrate a myriad of queer experiences in Cincinnati through affordable theatre while also offering local actors another avenue for performance through staged readings. We hope through sharing these stories, we can learn to better understand and love ourselves and our diverse community as well as enable conversation and understanding in our city. Whether you're an ally, a member of the LGBTQ community or just want to experience some great theatre, QCQTC welcomes you to join the conversation!

"Wonderful performance. Will definitely attend future shows. Thank you for adding to the arts in Cincinnati."
- Heather Smith, Audience Member
In November of 2014, Linnea Bond, Lindsey Augusta Mercer and a group of other passionate artists established the Queen City Queer Theatre Collective (QCQTC) with their inaugural reading of THE BEEBO BRINKER CHRONICLES.
Wanting to see more representation for women and queer stories on the Cincinnati stage, they began producing staged readings every 2nd Monday of the month on the 2nd floor of Below Zero Lounge in downtown Cincinnati. |
In addition to the monthly readings, they participate in the Cincinnati Fringe Festival (HEARD, 2015) and the Pride Festival. QCQTC was created primarily to further diversify the thriving Cincinnati arts scene free of charge.
By producing monthly staged readings, they strive to provide more opportunities for local theatre artists to work on their craft, experiment, and create work about which they are passionate. |
